Patient Information: Patient is calling for a telehealth consultation. She is a first time mom who is 5 months postpartum. Despite “trying everything,” she has not been able to make enough milk for her baby. She is calling to discuss a worsening rash on her nipples.

1. Obtain a focused history relevant to the presenting concerns (eg. medical, surgical, family, social, pregnancy, peripartum, breastfeeding)
2. Obtain a focused medical history of a neonate
3. Request to perform a breast assessment
4. Explain to the patient why her rash is a contact dermatitis
5. Propose a management strategy for contact dermatitis on the nipple-areolar complex of a lactating patient who is nursing and pumping
6. Review strategies for increasing milk production for a lactating patient with unilateral insufficient glandular tissue
